One day I hope to live in the country surrounded by wildlife, big open spaces, beautiful trees, and air that doesn't smell like a Big Mac. Have I mentioned we live very close to a McDonald's AND a Chinese restaurant? If the General Tso's chicken was any good, I may not mind so much, but it is what it is. In the meantime, God put this BEAUTIFUL tree directly across the street from me and I wanted to share it with you because I like it that much. In Anne of Green Gables, she expresses my thoughts exactly..."I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn't it?..." Around here, yes it would.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

The tree is lovely! I love autumn and wish it would last much longer.
Now you made me feel like reading the Anne series again.
It's so true! Ah, the wisdom of Anne. And that is a lovely tree. Anne would say that yellow leaves on a tree are like millions of bits of sunshine juts bursting to come out.
Dear Imperfect Housewife,
LOVE Anne! We could all use a bit of her perspective!
We dream of the counrty too but like you said, it is what it is. And we give thanks for the beauty of where we are.
Love,
Raimie
Anne said a lot of very silly things, but this isn't one of them. Beautiful tree. I'm lucky enough to live in a place such as you describe, but this year the leaves have blown off the trees before we had them turn lovely colours.
Well, when you live in the country, you get the hog farm coming over for an uninvited visit from the northwest. Time to shut the windows, dear!
I used to live close enough to a McD's AND BK. Whoppers when the wind blew just right or those wonderful fries when the wind came from another direction!! :D
That is a beautiful tree. Does it flower in the spring?
I love the Anne of Green Gables quote especially since October is my favorite month.
My front tree seriously looks exactly like that - It hasn't turned yet but it turns yellow like that and you can't see our house. LOVE IT!! I hope my across the street neighbors appreciate it (wink) especially since they don't have to rake up all those leaves. Booo Yahhhhh
So you are moving to Montana? Wildlife - check, big open spaces - check, not a McDonalds in sight - Check, Cherie will come visit you - Check! Ha ha
you are so funny. there is an audubon trail in my town directly behind a chinese restaurant and not far from a burger king. it's so funny to walk one of the trails and think: let's get some egg rolls! free eggrolls with $20 purchase! LOL
beautiful tree. happy fall!

My kids wouldn't mind living where it smelled like a Big Mac, but the Chinese smell would get old real fast!
I absolutely LOVE Anne of Green Gables, so I'm always happy to find someone else that enjoys her, or even knows what I'm talking about when I mention it.
The leaves are starting to change here where I live, and I enjoy all the seasons so much. I'm thankful that God loves pretty things too and made sure to give us so much to look at and enjoy. So, I hope that He gives you the desires of your heart and you can live somewhere with a beautiful view.
Oh, I wish you lived in my neighborhood! Maybe in Heaven...
I picked up a copy of Anne at the thrift shop and hoped to save it for when my grandbabies are older. I think I'll get that out and start reading it myself. I love this line you included in your post.
I LOVE this picture, I LOVE your thoughts on it, and I just must LOVE October as that is the month I married...my LOVE! ;-)
I love love Anne with an e!! I feel an Anne marathon coming on!! =)
