It's been WEEKS since I've done a blog post and I just noticed that I've got 200 followers now, which I think calls for a post-Christmas giveaway! If it falls below 200 before then, well then we're STILL going to have a giveaway because that's how we roll around here. (I guess by "we" I just mean my imaginary staff and I.) Since we've all got halls to deck and shopping to start do, I'll wait until the Monday after Christmas.
When I try and catch up with blogging, for some reason Friday is the day I do it. For one thing, I not-so-long-ago discovered that pictures from my childhood DO exist. For another, I work in the afternoons on Fridays so I'm home in the morning to do it. After the holidays (I will continue to use that excuse until I can't anymore), my hope is to go back to regular blogging, but then again I said last year after the holidays I'd lose 20 lbs. and that hasn't happened yet, so we'll all just chug along and hope for the best.
So without further ado, here is the Christmas that I got my beloved Susie doll. I still have her and her stroller, although the stroller is falling apart a bit. I pulled out most of Susie's eyelashes for whatever reason (we won't ask Freud) but she still closes her eyes when she's put in her crib. I remember taking her for walks on the sidewalk and people thinking it was a real baby because I'd have her tucked in so just her head peeped out. I did a post about Susie last year but since this is December, I thought a picture of when I got her for Christmas would be fun.
Please try not to ruin your retina by staring at the couch behind me. Yowza.
I would say hop on over to Alicia's blog, More Than Words, for more Friday Photo Flashback, but I think she took a time out this week from flashbacks and there's a picture of the best looking burger I've ever seen. Hop on over there anyway because she's fun and her blog is adorable.

Wow, that's some couch. I think we had one in a similar pattern but it was beige. Anyway, that is the fanciest doll crib that I have ever seen! Susie really had a life of luxury and style. Ha-ha- you weren't the only one out there pushing around a stroller while thinking everyone was fooled that it was a real baby! Oh, and the eyelash thing? Once when I came home from school I discovered that my younger cousin had pulled out my doll's eyelashes. When I confronted her, she denied it because she was probably afraid of me. I told my mother what she did and that my cousin was extra-demented for denying it. LOL! Needless to say, she grew up to be a fine, upstanding member of society and I've gotten over it. ♥
So you were a baby doll lover too, huh? I loved baby dolls, and had I been your friend back then I could just imagine the fun we would have had playing with them. ;-)
This is my question for you? How in the world do you get to 200 hundred followers without even blogging? Amazing lady...everyone likes you and you don't even have to do anything. Maybe I should quit trying so hard. ;-)
Yep I was a baby doll lover too. Mine was called Tabitha after the baby in Bewitched, because I still channel Samantha you know lol!
Great pictures, love your doll and crib.
Fun! I just got my childhood baby doll back recently after sending her off to be restored. She was loved on by many, many children after I I moved away from home, and was in horrible condition when I rescued her when my parent's down-sized and moved to a smaller house. And I know about fooling poeple with doll babies. I did that a few times when I was playing "Grandma" for my oldest when she had a newborn sized doll!
Hey, I think I would buy a couch like that if I was in the market for one. I like it!
I am concerned by that tinsel though. I've seen the packages in the store and wonder who in their right mind would use that stuff. ;)
I had a Mrs. Beasley doll growing up, but for some reason, I gave her a Billy Idol do, before Billy Idol was famous. :O
Oh my gosh, you were so cute!!!!!!! You were the real doll!!!!
I totally got busy this week and didn't have a FPF set up!!! :(
I was just coming to your blog to send you a Christmas email, and there you were! Your posts always make me laugh, and the statement about your imaginary staff did it. I just love when you post.
My favorite Christmas present was a Chatty Cathy doll; wish I still had her if only for the memories.
Have a great Christmas, friend.
I love your baby doll AND your couch! We had one like that ... flowers on a black background and I kind of liked it especially since it replaced an ugly brown one! My favorite dolly was a "Nancy Gerber" doll ... she was small and fit nicely in my little doll carriage. I really need to find some pictures ...
Tinsel ... one or two strands at a time; no throwing on the tree allowed!! LOL!!!
