An Organized Giveaway!

Happy New Year, 2011!
If you blog a little or a lot, no doubt you've read comments galore about making resolutions for the new year.  UGH.  Of course "resolution" sounds so hard-core, so call it what you will.  I love being organized and I whoop it up any time there's an actual reason or date to do something, i.e. make a change somehow.  Be it New Year's, Lent, Advent, a Monday, whatever, I grab it and go.  Even if it's not lasting, I'm no worse off for doing something a bit different.  That's why they invented the word "try".  Oooh, that was good, I have to remember that.

In a perfect world, this giveaway would've been done towards the end of December but seeing as I am not the "Perfect" but rather the "imPerfect" Housewife, the timing is completely off and therefore, just about right for this blog.  That's alright, I forgive me.  OK, enough chatter.  For those of you who like your ducks in a row, I'm having an organized giveaway to help just a teeny bit in giving your life a semblance of structure and order.

Here's what you'll get (all by Gooseberry Patch):

1.  A Garden Planner
2.  A Ho-Ho Holiday Planner (start now, trust me)
3.  A Holiday Online Organizer
4.  A Favorite Recipes Organizer
5.  A Weekly Meal Planner
and finally for those of us you that grab & go on occasion,
6.  A Take-Out Menu Organizer
(This giveaway is not sponsored by Gooseberry Patch in any way, I just like their stuff and thought it would be fun).

Here's how to enter - you will have up to two chances (and please make sure I have a way to contact you if you win):

1.  Leave a comment telling me one way that you like to be organized (and if you're a total slob, you're still very lovable so just tell us what could use a bit more organization in your life).

2.  Post the giveaway on your blog sidebar, or Facebook, or The New York Times, or The Yellow Pages, or something that lets your friends know about it.  Then leave a comment telling me you did so.  (#2 is purely optional)  Yellow Pages?  Yeah, I'm old.

I hate to leave anyone out, but this is for the continental U.S. only.

The giveaway will go through Sunday, January 9th, and the winner will be announced Monday morning, January 10th.  I'll use random.org.

If you've chosen to make any positive changes, whether they were on January 1st or February 23rd, there's never a bad time.  Good luck if you're entering the giveaway and I'm glad you stopped by!

LISTS! I absolutely positively have to make lists. Lots and lots of lists. For EVERY thing, EVERY day. (Confession: I've been keeping an index card on the fridge for about two weeks, adding anything else that I think of that I want to discuss with my doctor when I go for my check up. Check up was this morning. I moved the list from the fridge to the table by the front door - and walked out to the car without the list!)

Cool giveaway.
I desperately need to organize all the recipes I've printed from blogs to try. They are all stuffed in a big folder and I can never find what I want. So frustrating.

How fun!
I make lists and like routines...but I fail miserably at both! I keep trying and trying though. :)

Oh my gosh..this is what I need!! I totally need to be more organized with EVERYTHING!

Oh, dear! I used to want to be very organized but not any more. Now, I settle for the appearance of being organized! LOL!!!!It was more important when I was working full time.

I still occasionally make lists and either lose or forget them! My husband is the list maker and does a pretty fair job of sticking to the items on it. Since we do a lot of things together (he's semi retired, too) I just work off of his list when I have to! For instance, "Honey, don't forget to go to the dump today." and "Honey, since you're going to be out (at the dump) why not stop at the store for me ...." hehehehe!!!!

However, he gets even by saying: "Sweetie, make sure you have all the wastebaskets emptied." and "Sweetie, make out a grocery list for me ...."

Honey and Sweetie have been in love and married for over 36 years :-)

Okay, I'm going for it. One way I would like to be more organized is to find both a plastic food storage container AND its lid without having a nervous breakdown. Don't you think it should be the law that all tupperware containers that are roughly the same size have universal lids that fit each other? I do. Now, I'm off to call my assemblyman.

I want to be organized but the five children who live here refuse to let me!! I would really like to keep the clutter out but we live on a small income and i always keep things just in case!

I am terrible at organizing, and I admit that it's something I'm working on. One thing that I am a stickler for is keeping my kitchen cabinets organized. If someone else does dishes and puts them in the wrong place it makes me pretty peeved. Thanks for the giveaway

I am working on organizing all the toys and books and junk in this house! I thought I just did this, but it appears that things have quite deteriorated. So far I've reorganized my bookcase (I have this thing that I canNOT part with my books...so they just got moved to the basement to make space for whatever books I buy this year) and cleaned out a cupboard. With 6 kids in this house I have a long way to go...and I'm trying to do it when they don't notice what I'm getting rid of (an almost impossible task).

Angi Toth said...

ok, i just have to ask, are these things you have bought in the past to use yourself but never got around to using? i ask cuz that is so what i would do! lol i have gotten better, i say that slowly and high pitched, this past year on organizing, however i still have a craft room floor, that we debate on if it is still there or if it's all just junk piled upon junk! i then craft on my desk in my bedroom, which i must say, the bigger the desk does not mean the more room you have but the more stuff you can pile on IT! anyway, good luck. i would add your link to my blog AND facebook if i knew how, but i have not gotten organized enough to learn how to do all that stuff!

The imPerfect Housewife said...

Angi - LOL, no they're spankin' new. But now that you say that it makes me want to look around my house for stuff. I actually bought one of the Holiday Online Organizers and the Take Out Menu Organizer for myself, too. The computer and take-out...that's my life. HA HA Just joking...sort of.

Part of the house is very well organized but other parts make me cringe just knowing they exist. I'm going to tackle the storage room this afternoon and try to see if I can make some semblance of order out of the chaos.

Sorry the yellow pages and New York Times are not an option for me right now. How about I shout it from the rooftop? Would that qualify?

My house is a mess. Our daughter and her three children have moved in, talked abut unorganized HA!

Only ONE way I like to be organized? My own mom told me I was to picky about things, but that doesn't make me organized does it? I have to admit that I so like things tidy and put together, but I honestly think organization is a little different then tidy. I don't know!?! Nonetheless...what a great fun giveaway for the New Year. Thanks for the chance to learn and try something new.

One way that I helps keep me organized is to use a planner. What a fun giveaway, can always use more helps in this area.

I think I suffer from organized chaos :D

I just try to keep things neat by filing, picking up before I go to bed, cleaning right away. Yes, there are still a few cobwebs here and there and rooms to clean out. It just never ends.....

Gail @ Faithfulness Farm said...

EVERY January I start out uber organized and usually end the year as a total slob, lol. This year I organized and purged the christmas decor before storing away for the year. I am hoping to tackle my garage sometime in the near future....that is not a project for sissys, lol.

Wonderful giveaway and I am a total GBP fan! I am following you and have friended you on facebook. I'm posting about your giveaway on facebook so all my friends can come visit you :)

It is amazing how quickly stuff piles up in small houses. I can always use help keeping everything from falling down! Take care!

Cathy said...

The more I try to get organized, the more disorganized I become (with a little help from my unorganized-more-than-me husband). Perhaps if I had help with some new organizational "tools", it would keep me on track and disarm my husband's loving efforts to undo what little I seem to get accomplished. :)

Posted your link on Facebook. Good luck to everyone!

The IDEA of being organized is very appealing to me. However, I'm not very good at it. My goal this year (I'm trying to give myself plenty of time to accomplish this) is to clear off my desk, filing all that needs filed. If you saw my desk and the boxes of paperwork I need to plow through, you would know what a monumental task this is.

nc2751 said...

I just posted this giveaway on Facebook! Hope you get lots of responses!
