Well, I just had to share a few little things that have crossed my path and gave me a chuckle or two...
I know, right!? Come and get it, y'all! Since I'm not a major traveler, I don't know what's local and what's not, but I think that "pork steaks" are pretty Midwestern, aren't they? Not sure. They're made from pork butt, which isn't a butt at all, but rather a shoulder (area-ish). Any BBQ you go to in these parts will have pork steaks on the menu. The curly tails - hilarious!
Uh, "Easy Open"? Yeah, I don't think so, Chef.
Of course I don't believe in "luck" (although if you've seen my daughter's driving record of things that have happened to her car, you just might, but I digress) but isn't half the FUN of getting Chinese, reading your fortune cookie? I don't think you should have a website on your fortune in case you didn't like it. Being the investigative blogger that I am, I went to the website and in order for them to get "the fortune that's right for you", you need to enter your name, e-mail address, and birthdate. Yeah, I can see my fortune alright - "Lots of spam mail on my horizon!"
And let's be honest, we have to take the good with the bad. Meredith made mini apple pies for the first time and didn't think that food was quite so funny, but it sure made me laugh...
I think the word she used was quite similar to the highlight of picture #1. I gently told her that she needs to choose her words more carefully, especially when communicating with her own mother. Her response...
I know you are, but what am I!? Good one, huh? And so mature. At least I know how to make apple pie...sort of.

Best post ever! I can't believe anyone would have their hunger ignited after seeing that sign, but what's the alternative? Going home and finding out you have to open your can of ravioli the old fashioned way?
I'm sure I was in agreement with Meredith the first time I made any pie. Not about the pie being a pain, but about you being crazy. ;-)
Great post!!!
Hope you are having a great weekend!
Funny. My fav is the "hot Tasty Butts."
LOL..that sign is hilarious!
Oh..and whenever we have fortune cookies, we all take turns reading them aloud, and the we add, "In the toilet" at the end! It's soooo funny!
You and me baby! Both of us are just loco! ;-) At least that is what I am sure my kids call me, when I am not listening.
So have you tried the "Hot Tasty Butts"? If not...wait until we get there...we will try them out with you.
Cute post!
Whenever we have Chinese food, Bill always seems to get MY cookie! (and my fortune) I don't know how he does it, since he offers them to me first...
A friend and I made our own fortune cookies one time. We called them Proverb Cookies and inside on little slips of paper we had typed verses from the book of Proverbs. Lots of fun to watch kids open them. Tasted better than the regular ones, too.
