Here's how the site describes it on their page - "Take a picture of a picture from the past in the present". People take an old photo, go now to the same place where it was taken, and hold it up and take a picture of it. It's combining the old with the new. Then, the people who send in their pictures put a little note with it that starts, "Dear Photograph, ..." Some are funny, some are sad, some are sweet, etc., but they're all pretty special.
I decided to try some of my own "Dear Photographs" and it's not as easy as it seems - or maybe it is easy and I just have a depth perception problem...or a picture-taking problem. If it's sunny, I can't see my camera screen very well so lining up things like sidewalks and windows is kind of difficult but I gave it my best shot...(get it, camera...shot?) OK nevermind.
Dear Photograph, Picnics never get old.
Dear Photograph, Tell these three that when they blink, those school days will be over.

Dear Photograph, Thanks for reminding me that summer isn't so bad. ☼
Dear Photograph, When you're little, the size of the pool doesn't matter, just enjoy the water. And keep in touch with your cousins.
Dear Photograph, What I wouldn't give to have my driveway be an artist's dream again. ♥
I'm always on the lookout for fun new websites, so please share if you have some that you think I should go to and take a gander, and I'll share if I find anything neat or new.

That is rather cool, I'll say!
That is so cool!
I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this idea! Super cool...thanks for sharing. However, I think we may have moved to much to make this happen for my family pictures, but maybe when I go home to MT I could make it work. Love it!!
BTW...also LOVE the new look on your blog.
That is so neat!! I am REALLY going to try it! :)
And I also like the new look on your blog!
Blessings~

Wow, that's such a cool idea.
You did a fabulous job with these, Bethie! And your captions tear at my heartstrings! I think this is the best post of yours I've ever seen. I've seen another website like this Dear Photograph one you wrote about, but the photos there are typically just street shots of buildings in towns - nothing nearly as touching as your photos! You are lucky to still live in the same place where your pictures were taken. None of my pictures would work this way!
Great job!!
This is SOOOOO COOOOLLLLL!!! I can't even tell you how much I love this idea and I want to do it right now and like once a month!!
Thank you for sharing it - we should have a day once a month where we all share our photo's like this. Love it!!
Love you - Boo-Yah!!!!!
What a neat idea! I will have to try and do that out here! :)
Some rather ingenious babysitter once subbed the tub for a pool for three small children who begged and begged to go in the pool even though it was too cold. You're right, it is important to remember your cousins.
The kid who created this website got a book deal and a bazillion hits within like a month of creating the site, all while living at home after college and not being able to find a job.
Interesting idea. I think you did a great job with new/old photos and captions.
I like frosty in the back of the pool picture.
Wow, my favorite niece AND my favorite daughter commented on this! Favorite niece, let's you and I come up with something nifty like this and we can have a book deal, too. I know, I'll take a picture of the person taking the picture of the picture of the past in the present! Favorite daughter, I expect nothing less than a book deal when you get out of college (but first you need to think of something to write about). Your cool mom?? ♥
Girly, I just love this! I have got to do more of these kinds of photos so I can do this someday too! So SO SO much fun to see your name in my inbox today. I know exactly what you mean about subscribing and not commenting too. Still, it was a fun treat to read your comment.
Mwah! :)

What a great idea, you seem to have lined them up well, even if you couldn't always see the screen.
that is such a neat project. i may have to dig out some photos and try it. have a great weekend!
This is really great!
Love seeing you post :D
that dear photograph site is really something special, thanks for the heads up!
Good heavens! I forgot to post my comment: I LOVE THIS! You are so clever! I'm so tired! I'm just catching up with my blogging friends, but wanted you to know I saw this earlier this summer but must have fallen asleep before I posted ;-)
