I think I can remember my brother Jeff winning this bike, but maybe I just heard about it so much that I think it's my own memory. Hmmm... Anyway, there was a Big Boy restaurant near us (that's no longer there, sad to say) and apparently they were giving away two bicycles. I love this picture because you can tell he's excited but not wanting to show it too much. He's the fifth child and the third boy, so this may have been his first NEW bike. My guess for the year would be around 1967 or so. He looks about 7 here, doesn't he?

I remember several different Big Boy restaurants when I was growing up... some were called Bob's Big Boy and some were Mark'c Big Boy, etc...

I grew up with Bob's Big Boys too. I used to love to order a hot fudge sundae there because they would bring a big cup of hot fudge on the side - YUM!
We had a Big Boys in the good old state of Montana growing up too! Don't remember much of it, but just the name and the Big Boy. ;-)
YAY for your brother, I am sure he was SUPER excited!!!
The Big Boy was across the street from the Texas Toms when I was growing up. Us kids liked Texas Toms and dad liked Big Boy. As I got older, their Italian steak sandwich was to die for. Really would like another one someday. Thanks for the memories.
